SPCS have public labs open to all faculty members for research and teaching purposes.
Biochemical analysis lab
Facilities in this lab include microplate reader, high-speed refrigeration centrifuge, ultramicro ultraviolet spectrophotometer, micropipette, oscillator, constant temperature heating module. These facilities are used to detect biomarkers such as cortisol, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). There are also three cryogenic refrigerators to preserve blood and sputum samples.
Eye tracking Lab
The lab is equipped with several Eyelink 1000 plus eye trackers. The eye trackers have a high sampling rates binocularly at up to 1000Hz or monocularly at up to 2000Hz, which can provide fast, accurate and reliable eye tracking with low spatial noise.
Physiological signal recording lab
The lab is equipped with two sets of BIOPAC BioNomadix (MP150 & MP160). This wearable wireless system can provide various kinds of physiological signals, such as body temperature, cardiac output, ECG, pulse, EDA.
Neuromodulation lab
Facilities in this lab include two sets of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) (Magstim SuperRapid2 and BiStim2) with neuronavigation (ANT Visor2), and four sets of transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) (Soterix HD-tDCS, NeuroConn DC/MC8/MR).
Electroencephalography (EEG) lab
The lab has three shielding chambers, and a BP BrainAmp DC64 is equipped for each room. The lab also provides portable EEG (BP LiveAmp32) and MR compatible EEG (BP MR128)
Multi-sensory lab
Facilities in this lab include CRS Display++ LCDs for visual presentation, an auditory neurophysiology workstation (TDT) for auditory presentation, an olfactometer (ETT) for olfactory presentation, a tactile stimulus system (EPIC Galileo), a tactile-visual mixed display (Jiaohu TV-II), a tactile display (Latero TL-001) and a neuro-tactile stimulator (NeuroDevice ND01-01-TD24) for tactile presentation, and a motion tracking and virtual reality interaction system.
Computer labs
The school has three computer labs, one large lab with 30 computers and two small labs with 8 computers for each lab for running small-group experiments.
